many made sense like percy with swimming or surfing, frank with archery, hazel with an equestrian sport, etc

it made me think of leo. he’s kind of a hard one to place since he’s mainly good at building/inventing things which aren’t very sporty activities. i remember seeing fanart of him playing table tennis which makes sense and seems very in character for him

Dean isn’t great with words when it comes to grief—he knows there’s nothing he can say to take your pain away.

But he’s damn sure not going to let you go through it alone.

The moment he sees the heartbreak in your eyes, he'll pull you into his arms, holding you tightly against his chest.

“I got you, sweetheart,” he'll murmur, pressing a lingering kiss to your crown.

He would stay like that for as long as you needed, grounding you in his warmth, his security.

In the following days, he would watch over you like a hawk—not smothering, but making sure you’re eating, drinking, and not shutting down completely.

He’ll cook you your favourite food, even run in to town to get you your favourite cheeseburger if that's what you wanted.

If you can’t sleep, neither does he. He’ll stay up, letting you rest against him, running his fingers through your hair until it finally lulled you to sleep

And when the grief feels unbearable, when you finally break down in front of him, he'll just hold you, whispering soft reassurances.

“You don’t have to be strong for me, baby. Just let it out. I’m right here.”

He never rushes your healing, never tries to fix what can’t be fixed—he just loves you through it, in the way only Dean Winchester can.

Beau doesn’t pretend to have all the answers, but he knows one thing for sure—you’re his, and he’s not going to let you go through this alone.

The first thing he does is hold you.

Not just some half-hearted hug—no, he wraps you up in his arms, pressing slow, lingering kisses to your temple, your cheek, your forehead.

“I got you, sweetheart,” he'll murmur, his voice thick with emotion. “I ain’t goin’ anywhere.”

He checks on you constantly—bringing you coffee, making sure you eat, running his fingers over your back in soothing circles when you can’t bring yourself to get out of bed.

And when the silence in the house feels too heavy, he takes you on a drive—windows down, his hand resting over yours on the gearshift.

“Just us, baby,” he says softly. “Breathe.”

At night, when the weight of your grief is too much, he pulls you onto his lap, cradling you against him.

“I wish I could take this pain away from you,” he admits, pressing his lips against your shoulder. “But I’ll carry as much of it as I can, darlin’.”

He'll hold you for as long as you need, whispering sweet reassurances between soft, lingering kisses, letting you cry into his chest if that’s what you need.

Ben doesn’t do emotions. Not really.

He’s spent decades brushing off pain, cracking jokes, and punching his way through problems.

People cry? He rolls his eyes. People break down? He walks the other way. That’s just how he is.

But you? You’re different.

When he sees you hurting, something inside him tightens, and for once, he doesn’t have some snarky comment locked and loaded.

Instead, he stands there, fists clenching and unclenching at his sides, unsure of what the hell he’s supposed to do.

At first, he tries to be himself about it—gruff, no-nonsense.

“Hey, shit happens. People die, the world keeps turning.”

But when you don’t react, when you just sit there looking so damn lost, he feels something foreign creeping in. Worry.

So, he does the only thing he can think of—he pulls you into his arms, tight, unyielding. His grip is almost bruising, like he’s afraid you’ll disappear if he lets go. 

“I got you, baby,” he mutters against your hair, his voice rough but lacking its usual edge. “I ain’t goin’ anywhere.”

He’s awkward about it—comfort isn’t his thing—but for you, he tries.

He sticks close, hovering even when he pretends he’s not. He won’t outright ask if you’re okay, but suddenly, he’s around more.

Sitting next to you, brushing his fingers against yours, silently daring you to take his hand.

When the grief finally crashes over you, when you collapse against him in sobs, he stiffens at first—old instincts screaming at him to run.

But then he melts, wrapping you up in his arms, pressing rough kisses to the top of your head.

“Shhh, sweetheart,” he mutters, voice softer than you’ve ever heard it. "I got you.”

That night, he doesn’t leave your side. He pulls you into his chest, holds you close, fingers tangled in your hair.

“You’re not alone, doll,” he whispers, voice raw. “Not anymore.”

And maybe he’s never said those words before, but for once, he means every damn one of them.

me when the guy i had been off and on hooking up with for over a year and half suddenly confesses his feelings for me

me and this guy met at a bar when i was in my junior year of college + we kinda hit it off right away. like it was one of those *eyes meet from across the room* sort of cheesy bs situations

we liked hanging out w/ each other but we would also hook up everytime we hung out. so. naturally i figured that that was all we were ever gonna do. plus i’d dropped hints to him here and there, giving him openings to ask me out and whatever, and he didn’t so i assumed that he wasn’t interested in making anything between us ‘serious’. which was dumb bc i could have said smth too but i didn’t. didn’t feel it was worth it idk ? was a lil confused

basically i was a victim of a situationship ……

we hung out before i went on my big trip overseas in oct/nov of this yr, and we haven’t hung out since ive been back (mid nov)

he reached out when i got home though and asked if i was free, to which i told him that i was rlly busy with job search stuff and couldn’t meet (which was a white lie and it was dumb but it felt right to say in the moment. i WAS kinda busy + also i didn’t want to keep seeing this dude if he only wanted to get physical every time bc im over that)

but then tonight rolls around ! !

(it’s been a while— like a month ish—since i’ve reached out to him—the longest we’ve gone without talking in a hot sec !)

and he messages me and says “are we good? it feels like we aren’t”

and then we kinda start talking abt everything, and i explain how ive been feeling, and he suddenly says that he feels dumb bc he’s liked me for a while/wanted to go out and do other stuff together for a bit but has been too nervous to say anything bc he thought i’d want to stop talking to him …….

like he basically thought that he would scare me away with anything ‘serious’ - that’s what he said

so we talk a bunch and we clear things up, and it’s nice and he’s funny and it’s comfortable and then he just says during a break in the texts :

“sorry i’ve just missed you so much it’s been eating at me.”

word for word ! uhmm !

like HELLO ! !?? this man has never said that sort of stuff to me before ??

and now he’s telling me that he’s back in his hometown rn (in the same state) but that he wants to take me skiiing or snowboarding sometime this month or next :,,D he says he wants to teach me how to snowboard

okay I think this is jaide's final main team, I forgot to toggle female for blaziken but you saw the previous post so heheh

vvv me rambling below about each 'mon vvv

GALLADE

- Named Remy, based on my actual save file for him in my Platinum game. Remy is Jaide's ace, and she's very attached to him. Jaide is a very reckless trainer and goes forth with anything - Remy would always be the type to evaluate the situation and would immediately drag her away if his judgement says it's too dangerous - but if not, he attends to her.

- Despite her goofy nature, he's still very overprotective and he trusts her.

TOGEPI

- Named Pipino, based on my first gameplay of HGSS. Togepi is actually the newest member of her team, initially finding Togepi as a lost egg found in the streets. She, along with Red took him under her care and tried to look for whoever may have lost their egg. Eventually they found the owner, however the egg had hatched into a Togepi and developed a deeper connection with Jaide and preferred her over the actual owner - so the owner basically gave her the little baby and she named him Pipino. Pipino totally sees Red as another parental figure

- Pipino is still quite young, so he hasn't really developed a proper understanding of battling and mostly acts as a companion and cheerleader. All of Jaide's other Pokémon babysits him and loves him. (Kaia especially)

BLAZIKEN

- Named Kaia, though sadly I don't remember her given name in my first R/S gameplay from years ago so I went with this one.

- Very friendly and cheerful, Jaide loved to play with Kaia as a Torchic and she grew to be a very physical and strong fighter.

LEAFEON

- Named Vivi. I don't have much input for her sadly, but she's crucial when Jaide met Red for the first time in decades.

MANTINE

- Name TBD, a recent add to the team so I don't have much input here.

- Though Mantine is Jaide's token fast travel Pokemon, she either surfs on them or water skiis. Possibly got them from Johto

REUNICLUS

- Name TBD, also another recent add to the team so I have to think about them

- I added them because Duosion's dex entry that states "it has two brains, which think independently causing two actions at one - but if the brain thinks alike, it exhibits stronger psychic powers" and I just went oh yeah that's a Jaide kinda Pokemon fr fr.... also it just looks like her idk HWHAGRGAHSHA

one of the first things that riveted me was the suffix "-ic" which is present in both english and sanskrit and is used to denote or express ' the charecteristics of '

like "vedic" or "puranic" or sanskritic" are legit words in both english and sanskrit with the exact same meaning

before i noticed this a few years back, i brushed off the other similarities as borrowed words (jungle, loot and karma etc are borrowed from hindi to english for example) , but then after this i was like there's no way in hell that this very ancient suffix is borrowed one way or another.
